CORESafety TV (October 2024): Powered Haulage Is Dangerous… And Always Will Be
Working on or around powered haulage equipment is one of the most dangerous things that a miner can do on the job.
And even though newer, safer designs are coming out all the time, the truth is that there will always be dangers associated with moving equipment. Mining depends upon the ability to move things from “here to there” whether you’re working underground or on the surface.
Powered haulage accidents are often the cause of serious injuries and even occasional fatalities, which is why it’s imperative to always stay alert, stay aware and stay safe.
Here’s a special Powered Haulage safety reminder from CORESafety TV —
Each time you arrive at a mine site, you should —
- Remind yourself that you’ll likely be working on or around dangerous powered haulage equipment at some point during the day; and
- Talk about safety frequently with your fellow miners.
Always Stay Alert, Stay Aware and Stay Safe!
