National Miners Day 2020: Celebrating Our Nation’s Miners and the Essential Work They Do For America
This month, CORESafety and the National Mining Association ask you to join us in celebrating National Miners Day, a time for recognizing the dedicated men and women in the mining industry that help to keep our country prosperous and safe.
National Miners Day takes place each year on December 6, the date that was established in 2009 to remember those miners who have died while working in mines and to honor the commitment of those who are working today.
“This observance serves as an important recognition for the hardworking men and women that bring us the raw materials used in everything from smart phones to fighter jets to medical supplies and even vaccines,” says NMA President and CEO Rich Nolan.
“Mining’s essential role in our modern world is unwavering – it remains the backbone of America’s technological innovation and future.”
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, mines across the country have continued operations as part of our nation’s essential industries, demonstrating the safe and reliable capabilities of U.S. mining while producing minerals that keep other industries running.
As always, CORESafety’s focus as a safety and health management system is to ensure that miners go home safe and healthy at the end of every day.
We recognize, honor and thank those tens of thousands of miners across the country that worked with such dedication – and continue to work – to deliver the essential minerals we all need.
