NATIONAL MINERS DAY: Recognizing All Miners and Dedicated to Their Safety
CORESafety and the National Mining Association are proud to celebrate National Miners Day this month, as we do on December 6 each year.
Together with other organizations including the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), we recognize and applaud the skill, dedication and hard work that miners put into providing many of the products essential to fulfilling America’s most vital needs.
America’s miners are an invaluable and critical part of our nation’s workforce. They supply the minerals and raw materials necessary for our energy, national defense, manufacturing and infrastructure.
Each day, thousands of miners work to provide the coal and iron ore necessary to produce steel, the gravel and cement needed to build our roads and bridges, and the copper essential to electricity transmission lines.
At NMA, we honor current, retired and former miners, including those we’ve lost in mining accidents and to various occupational illnesses. In doing so, we recommit to ensuring that miners’ safety and health must always be the first priority and concern in mining.
CORESafety continues to provide up-to-date safety education to ensure that all miners return home safely at the end of every work day.
