CORESafety TV (October 2020): Special Episode: The Incredible Benefits of Unmanned Aerial Systems in Mining
Welcome to the October edition of CORESafety TV — the online video program from the National Mining Association.
One of the hottest topics in mining today is the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Commonly referred to as “drones”, these systems are being employed by practically every mining operation in the world, including virtually all CORESafety companies.
UAS programs generally provide three main benefits –
- They keep miners safe
- They provide a new level of data collection
- They reduce the cost of exploration
In this episode of CORESafety TV, we examine the intricacies of the UAS drone program at Freeport-McMoRan by interviewing Corporate Lead Pilot and Instructor Steve Wininger.
Also in this episode, we take a look at CORESafety’s Module #6 – Emergency Management.
