CORESafety TV: March 2020
CORESafety TV (March 2020):
National Ladder Safety Month
Welcome to the March 2020 edition of NMA’s CORESafety TV – the only online video series dedicated to safety in mining.
The National Mining Association is following the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic closely and will be providing information as this unique and challenging situation continues to evolve. In the meantime, we do want to continue providing our regular tips and best practices to stay safe in the workplace.
Did you know that more than 120 miners are injured each year from incidents involving falls from ladders?
This is National Ladder Safety Month, as designated by the American Ladder Institute, and it’s the perfect time to review some tips on how to lessen the risks of falling when working in your mining operation.
In this episode, we also take a look at reporting and investigating safety incidents and why you should also analyze near-miss events that might not seem serious enough to report – including slips, trips and falls.
To learn more about this, refer to CORESafety Module #14 to see what are considered reportable versus non-reportable incidents.
Please take a few minutes to watch this episode and then share it with your management team and workforce.
