Welcome to the March edition of CORESafety TV — the online video program from the National Mining Association. 

Rapid advancements in mining technology are playing a key role in protecting more miners on the job every day. 

Mine operators are discovering the benefits of using integrated technology because of the analytical data that these systems can provide. It’s that data that ultimately gives more insights into safety hazards and allows operators to make adjustments as needed for their miners. 

Two examples of this in powered haulage are Operator Alertness Systems (OAS) and Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS). 

This month on CORESafety TV, we’re featuring an interview with Josh Savit. He’s the Global Manager of MineProtect Safety Solutions in Hexagon’s Mining Division. 

Josh says they offer safety solution methodologythrough technology with what they call “The Power of One”. Their primary goal – to protect the miners themselves and to lessen the risks of danger at mine sites.
